Navigating New Export Requirements: An Update on Our African Art & Craft Services

A Commitment to Conservation and Wholesale Excellence
At Updiversities we are deeply committed to the sustainable sourcing and export of authentic African arts and crafts. As a dedicated partner in the global trade of cultural goods, we are adapting to new regulatory changes implemented by the Zimbabwean government aimed at reinforcing vital conservatory measures for our natural resources, specifically regarding the export of wooden products and baskets.
These necessary and important governmental mandates require new licensing for every shipment containing wooden products and hand-woven baskets. While this ensures the long-term sustainability of our resources, it has prompted a necessary revision in our operational and pricing structure.
Key Adjustments for Our Valued Global Clientele:
To ensure the most cost-effective and efficient service under these new regulations, we are implementing the following changes:
1. Wholesale Only for Baskets and Wooden Items
To mitigate the impact of the new per-export license fee, the following items will now be available exclusively on a wholesale-only basis for international shipments:
Hand-Woven Baskets (All Types)
Wooden Products (e.g., Walking Sticks, Carvings)
This strategic shift allows us to consolidate licensing costs and continue offering these beautiful, labor-intensive products at the best possible value to our wholesale partners.
2. New Pricing Structure
Due to the addition of mandatory export license fees, there has been an inevitable and modest revision to the prices of these affected goods. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and assure you this change is implemented solely to maintain compliance and the superior quality you expect.
3. Custom Wholesale Stone Sculpture Orders (Air Cargo Shipping)
We are thrilled to continue welcoming and prioritizing custom wholesale orders for multiple small-sized stone sculptures. These bulky shipments are conveniently dispatched via trusted Air Cargo carriers, including Qatar Airways Cargo and Emirates SkyCargo, delivering efficiently to your nearest international airport.
4. Shipping for Bulky Items
For larger, bulky shipments such as big stone sculptures and Marimba musical instruments, our standard, cost-effective method remains Air Cargo to your nearest international airport. Should you require the premium convenience of DHL Home Delivery, please notify us upon placing your order, and we will advise you of the corresponding additional shipping costs.
Our Assurance to You: Unwavering Excellence
As we navigate this period of adjustment, we assure you that our commitment to excellent customer service and the magnificent quality of our Zimbabwean crafts remains our highest priority. We are actively refining our processes to minimize delays and maximize value.
We believe that by adapting to these new measures, we are securing a sustainable future for the African art and craft industry.
Your loyalty and understanding are deeply appreciated as we forge ahead in this valued partnership.
We are ready to assist you! For any wholesale inquiries, custom order requests, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact us directly.
